Eighteen Abergele Harriers were in Mold on Sunday to compete alongside 293 runners over a 5 mile hilly course in the penultimate race of this season’s Borders Road Running League. It was the biggest turn out for the club for many years.

Rich Wilyman led the team home in 29:01 (16th) followed by Darren Blazier running 30:33 (41st). Danny Williams improved his personal best again to finish in 30:43 (42nd) just ahead of Jodi Waters running 30:45 (43rd) and Nick Foden completing the distance in a personal best of 30:53 (47th). Sean McCormack finished in 32:13 (75th) ahead of James Salt running 32:26 (85th). Anthony Howe ran a personal best of 33:26 (106th) followed by Mark Mayers finishing in 33:48 (115th) and Steven McCormack in 34:17 (132nd). John Jones crossed the line in 35:00 (147th) closely followed by Warren Brown in a personal best of 35:17 (156th) and Darren Battersby in 35:45 (168th). Grahame Shone was 1st V65 with a run of 36:46 (181st) with Martin Barnaby finishing in 38:03 (207th).

Emma Collins led the ladies home in 35:18 for 2nd FV50 (157th overall, 24th lady). Chris Birch won the FV65 category running 37:26 (195th, 37th lady) followed by Rachel Shipley finishing in 38:52 (218th, 46th lady).
