Nine men and three ladies turned out in very windy conditions to take part in the penultimate race of this season’s Borders Road Running League held over a 10k course at Caernarfon on Sunday.

Darren Blazier led the men home in 36m 05s for 21st overall and 3rd MV40. Jodi Waters ran 36m 14s (22nd) followed by Sean McCormack running 38m 38s (47th). James Salt finished in 39m 48s (65th) with Mark Mayers running 41m 12s (83rd). Darren Battersby ran an excellent personal best of 42m 32s (98th) closely followed by Steven McCormack finishing in 42m 50s (103rd). John Jones was rewarded with a personal best of 45m 06s (137th) on his Borders League debut with Anthony Howe crossing the line in 49m 22s (178th).

 

Rachel Shipley took more than 2 minutes off her previous time for the distance to lead the ladies home in a fantastic 10k personal best of 44m 42s for 130th overall. Amy Owen-Jones ran 45m 37s (144th) followed by Chris Birch, celebrating her 68th birthday, finishing in 47m 18s (156th) and 2nd FV60.
