Nine men and three ladies turned out in very windy conditions to take part in the penultimate race of this season’s Borders Road Running League held over a 10k course at Caernarfon on Sunday.

Darren Blazier led the men home in 36m 05s for 21^st overall and 3^rd MV40. Jodi Waters ran 36m 14s (22^nd) followed by Sean McCormack running 38m 38s (47^th). James Salt finished in 39m 48s (65^th) with Mark Mayers running 41m 12s (83^rd). Darren Battersby ran an excellent personal best of 42m 32s (98^th) closely followed by Steven McCormack finishing in 42m 50s (103^rd). John Jones was rewarded with a personal best of 45m 06s (137^th) on his Borders League debut with Anthony Howe crossing the line in 49m 22s (178^th).

Rachel Shipley took more than 2 minutes off her previous time for the distance to lead the ladies home in a fantastic 10k personal best of 44m 42s for 130^th overall. Amy Owen-Jones ran 45m 37s (144^th) followed by Chris Birch, celebrating her 68^th birthday, finishing in 47m 18s (156^th) and 2^nd FV60.
