Thirteen Abergele Harriers lined up with 310 runners to compete in the opening round of the Borders Road Running League held at Prestatyn on Sunday.

Darren Blazier led the team home in 29m 49s for 38th position overall with Richard Wilyman crossing the line in 30m 17s for 48th position.

Richie Lee ran 32m 40s for 92nd just ahead of Mark Mayers finishing in 32m 56s for 96th.

Andrew Mercer ran 33m 49s for 113th with Ed Reid hot on his heels completing the distance in 34m exactly for 118th.

Dave Edwards finished in 35m 51s for 158th with Carol Willgoose leading the ladies home in 36m exactly for 167th (12th lady and 1st LV50).

Jeni Richards ran 37m 37s for 203rd (24th lady) followed by Chris Birch running 37m 49s for 204th (25th lady and 1st LV60).

The team was completed by Grahame Shone returning from injury to run 38m 27s for 213th, Paula Maguire running her first Border League race in over 2 years finishing in 42m 28s for 269th (63rd lady) and John Essary crossing the line in 45m 45s for 296th.
