Majestic Travel Cross Country League.

Abergele Harriers fielded their biggest cross country team in recent memory when 8 Harriers travelled to Wrexham for the penultimate round of this season’s Majestic Travel North Wales Cross Country league, with excellent performances, in very windy conditions, by all. First Harrier home, running superbly off road at present, was Sean McCormack in a time of 33 minutes 39 seconds for the 9k course, earning him 23rd position overall, his highest position ever in the league. Next home, also running extremely well at present, was Richie Lee in an excellent 34mins 48secs for 41st position, with cross country captain, Ed Reid very well placed behind him, in 63rd position in a time of 36 minutes exactly. Grahame Shone was next in 78th position with a very powerful 37mins 8secs. Chris Arnold, running his second cross country race for the club, also handled the conditions superbly finishing in 39mins 19secs, while Rob Spotswood, hampered by horrendous blisters on his feet, wasn’t far behind in 41mins and 5secs. Roy Evans, a club debutant at the discipline, proved his value to the team with an excellent 43mins and 44secs, with Alan Lucas a cross country runners with years of experience and loyalty to the club completing a fabulous day all round with a very creditable 44mins and 13secs. The outstanding turnout on the day gave the club an excellent overall score of 420 points and a Vets score of 127 points.
