Majestic Travel Cross Country League.

Round 2; Bangor, 15/10/2005.

 

On Saturday a strong team traveled to Bangor for the second round of the Majestic Travel North Wales Cross Country League with excellent performances from all. Three ladies raced, with ever improving Angie Davidson coming home first, in an excellent time of 20 minutes 57seconds for 41st position overall. Second Harrier in, was Alison Guilemin, also running superbly at present, in a time of 22mins 19secs for 52nd. The team was completed by Julie Jones, who like Guilemin was running her first of two races over the weekend, and finished the grueling course in 27mins 55secs for 77th overall. In the men’s race, Sean McCormack once again led his team home in 32mins 50secs finishing in 25th position overall, with Geran Hughes just eighteen seconds behind in 29th. Grahame Shone, in superb form at present, was next Harrier, finishing in 35mins 54secs for 66th overall, with Tim Cahill returning to racing after a little time off, proving that he had lost none of his speed, racing home in 36mins 28secs for 74th. Ed Reid was just 19 seconds further back in 79th position, with Richie Lee finishing just further back in 87th position (37mins 34secs) despite starting over two minutes behind everyone else. Roy Evans continued to improve off-road, finishing in 37mins 56secs, with Mike Hobday also taking well to the discipline, in 38mins 27secs for 106th. Rob Spotswood finished in 39mins 23secs (112th), while Emyr Evans, running his first cross-country race for the club, was just three places further back, in 40mins 11secs. Alan Lucas completed a record men’s team of eleven runners, coming home in 47mins 22secs for 134th. The men’s score of 360 and ladies score of 170 keep both teams in the hunt for promotion to the top division at the end of the season.
