Majestic Travel Cross Country League

Six Harriers travelled to Oswestry for the final round of the Majestic Travel Cross-Country League on Saturday, all running superbly. Sean McCormack crowned a fabulous cross-country season by coming home in 21st position on the day in a time of 36minutes 27seconds, his highest league position to date, which earned him 3rd position overall in the highly competitive MV40 category. Just over a minute behind, in 37mins 46secs, was Richie Lee, 36th on the day, again one of his highest positions of the season. Cross-country captain Ed Reid ran a very steady race finishing in 40mins 59secs for 66th position, while Tim Cahill continues his return to the running scene with an impressive 41mins 26secs for 73rd. Roy Evans, in only his second cross-country race, improved considerably from his last outing, earning 96th position in 45mins 40secs, while Alan Lucas, running despite injury, finished in a very creditable 47mins 32secs for 105th overall. The overall team score of 397 on the day allowed the Harriers to leapfrog over Wrecsam Tri into 10th position in the 17 team league while the veteran team ended the season in 6th, their best ever position.
