Abergele Harriers hosted the third round of the Borders Road Running League on Sunday. 17 Abergele Harriers were among the 272 runners lined up in cold but dry conditions to take part in the 5 mile race along the cycle path from Pensarn.

Jodi Waters had an awesome run, leading the team home in a personal best of 29m 11s for 31st overall. Ben Lightowler finished in an excellent 30m 38s (56th) followed by Richie Wilyman running 31m 07s (61st). Rob Armstrong crossed the line in 31m 31s (67th) just ahead of Mark Mayers finishing in 31m 42s (71st). James Salt and Andrew Mercer both ran personal bests, finishing in 31m 47s (73rd) and 32m 13s (82nd) respectively. Andy Simpson finished in 35m 50s (154th) with Vernon Pownall hot on his heels finishing in 36m 15s (164th). Anthony Howe ran 37m 04s (182nd) ahead of Paul Thomas finishing in 38m 14s (203rd), Graham Shone running 39m 11s (217th) and Brian Williams crossing the line in 40m 03s (220th).

 

Carol Willgoose led the ladies home in 36m 19s (166th) followed by Rachel Shipley running 38m 01s (200th). Chris Birch finished in 41m 48s (236th) with Deede Plamperova completing the team with a run of 48m 10s (269th).
