On Sunday 2nd March, ten Abergele Harriers travelled to Birkenhead Park for this months Borders League fixture. The race took place over a 5.5 mile course
First Harrier to finish was Jodi Waters in a time 31:28 for 18th place. Next in was Ben Lightowler in 32:50 for 34th place who was very closely followed by Richard Wilyman in 35th place in a time of 32:55. Darren Balzier was 49th in a time of 33:28, Tim Cahill was 55th in 34:12, Rob Armstrong 63rd in 34:27, James Salt 69th in 34:48 and Andy Simpson finished in a time of 37:37 for 112th place. As a result, the men's team scored an impressive 317 points on the day to take a big lead in the second division.
For the ladies, Carol Wilgoose finished in a time of 40:24 and 19th lady and 1st FV55 and was followed in by Rachel Shipley in 43:31 and 36th lady.
This weeks Borders League results mean that there is now a tie at the top of the Men's leader board for the Club Grand Prix with Jodi Waters and Rob Armstrong both on 71 points, whilst the top two ladies , Sue Calvert and Carol Willgoose are separated by only one point, on 29 and 28 points respectively.
