Twelve Abergele Harriers, five of whom had raced the Twin Piers 10k the previous day, took part in the fourth fixture of 2016/17 Borders Road Running League. The race was held over a 4.4 mile course from Kelserton College, Connah’s Quay.

Rich Wilyman led the team home in 25:20 for 32nd position overall. Darren Blazier ran 26:41 (64th) closely followed by Danny Williams finishing in 27:02 (83rd). James Salt crossed the line in 28:07 (106th), Gareth Evans in 28:31 (116th), Mark Mayers in 30:31 (175th) and John Jones in 31:08 (192nd).

Anthony Howe ran 33:43 (248th) ahead of Danny Snelson finishing in 35:12 (275th) and Alan Newell completing the men’s team effort in 37:27 (322nd). The men finished 4th on the day in Division Two with 711points and unfortunately dropped down to 3rd in the division, just out of the promotion places.

Amy Owen-Jones was first lady home for the club running 32:29, for 33rd lady overall, followed by Rachel Shipley, 41st lady in 33:36. Unfortunately the ladies also dropped down in their league and are now 5th in Division Two.
