Ten men and four ladies represented Abergele Harriers in the first Borders Road Running League race of the 2014/2015 season. The race was held in Christleton near Chester on Remembrance Sunday with runners observing a two minute silence at 11am before the start. Over 350 runners from 17 clubs across North Wales, the Wirral and West Cheshire completed the 5.75 mile undulating course.

Ben Lightowler led the team home in a fantastic 32m 30s for 9^th overall, beating his previous best Borders League position by 10 places. Darren Blazier ran 33m 08s for 16^th overall and 1^st MV40. Jodi Waters finished in 35m 49s for 51^st followed by James Salt running 36m 23s for 58^th. Mark Mayers ran 37m 31s for 80^th with Rob Armstrong crossing the line in 39m 17s for 120^th. Gareth Evans finished in 40m 07s  for 143^rd ahead of Darren Battersby running 40m 48s for 163^rd. Ben Garnett and Grahame Shone completed a strong men’s team performance with runs of 41m 11s for 174^th and 41m 17s for 177^th respectively.

Jeni Richards led the ladies team home in 39m 08s for 118^th overall, 10^th lady and 2^nd FV50. Chris Birch finished in 42m 47s for 208^th overall, 37^th lady and 1^st FV60. Amy Owen-Jones, making her debut for the club, ran 45m 02s for 260^th overall and 57^th lady with Rachel Shipley finishing in 45m 24s for 267^th overall and 61^st lady.

After one race the men are 5th in Division 1 and the ladies 3rd in Division 2.
