Eight men and four ladies took part in the second round of the Grand Prix Express North Wales Cross Country League on Saturday afternoon, the clubs biggest turnout in over five years. Jeni Richards led the ladies team home in 24m 22s for 28th position followed by Chris Birch running 25m 53s for 43rd overall. Carol Willgoose, returning from injury, ran 26m 29s for 48th position with Diane Jones, having completed the Bangor 10k earlier in the day, crossing the line in 32m 03s for 82nd overall. In the longer men’s race James Salt led the team home in 41m 43s for 74th position followed by Tim Cahill finishing in 42m 50s for 84th. Sean McCormack ran 43m 14s for 89th ahead of Rob Armstrong crossing the line in 44m 07s for 98th. John Jones and Warren Brown, competing in their first cross country race for the club, ran 46m 13s for 117th and 46m 49s for 121st respectively. Darren Battersby finished in 48m 23s for 132nd with Steven McCormack completing an excellent team performance running 51m 03 for 148th overall.
