Eleven Abergele Harriers took part in the 5th round of the Borders League at Mold on Sunday. Over a hilly 5 mile course Darren Blazier led the men home in 28m 55s for 12th position overall. Sean McCormack, taking a time out from his Ultra training, ran 31m 07s (41st) with son Steven, also Ultra training at the moment, finishing in 32m 12s (63rd). Mark Mayers took over 4 minutes off his time for the course last year finishing in 32m 24s for his best Border League result to date (69th). Ed Reid ran 35m 30s (108th); Peter Hardy crossed the line in 42m exactly (195th) and John Essary finished in 43m 52s (112th).

Jeni Richards led the ladies home in 35m 11s for 102nd overall, 10th lady and 1st LV45, to consolidate her lead in the category overall, while Carol Willgoose ran 37m 23s for 145th overall, 19th lady and 1st LV50, to put her 3rd in the Category overall despite missing two races. Dominique Jones, making her Border League debut, ran 48m 27s (227th overall 77th lady) with Sonia Wignall completing the team by finishing in 49m 30s (230th overall 79th lady).
