Fifteen Abergele Harriers took part in the penultimate round of the Borders Road Running League held over a 5.7mile course at Christleton on Sunday.

Richard Wilyman led the team home in 32m 40s for 21^st overall. Darren Blazier, returning from injury, ran 35m 30s for 64^th with Rob Armstrong finishing in 36m 14s for 75^th. Mark Mayers ran 37m 02s for 93^rd followed by Andy Simpson finishing in 38m 22s for 117^th and Ed Reid running 38m 46s for 125^th. Tom Bancroft finished in 43m 03s for 186^th with Graham Arden and John Essary crossing the line in 51m 07s for 241^st and 51m 42s for 245^th respectively. Matte Finnan was unable to finish due to injury.

Jeni Richards led the ladies home in 39m 05s for 130^th overall, 10^th lady and 2^nd FV45. Carol Willgoose ran 40m 29s for 151^st overall, 13^th lady and 1st FV50 with Chris Birch finishing in 42m 25s for 180^th overall, 26^th lady and 1^st FV60. Rachel Shipley finished in 44m 17s for 197^th overall and 35^th lady, her highest Borders League position to date while Kim Westell, running her first Borders League race, completed the distance in 51m 32s for 243^rd overall and 67^th lady.
