Fifteen Abergele Harriers took part in the penultimate round of the Borders Road Running League held over a 5.7mile course at Christleton on Sunday.

Richard Wilyman led the team home in 32m 40s for 21st overall. Darren Blazier, returning from injury, ran 35m 30s for 64th with Rob Armstrong finishing in 36m 14s for 75th. Mark Mayers ran 37m 02s for 93rd followed by Andy Simpson finishing in 38m 22s for 117th and Ed Reid running 38m 46s for 125th. Tom Bancroft finished in 43m 03s for 186th with Graham Arden and John Essary crossing the line in 51m 07s for 241st and 51m 42s for 245th respectively. Matte Finnan was unable to finish due to injury.

Jeni Richards led the ladies home in 39m 05s for 130th overall, 10th lady and 2nd FV45. Carol Willgoose ran 40m 29s for 151st overall, 13th lady and 1st FV50 with Chris Birch finishing in 42m 25s for 180th overall, 26th lady and 1st FV60. Rachel Shipley finished in 44m 17s for 197th overall and 35th lady, her highest Borders League position to date while Kim Westell, running her first Borders League race, completed the distance in 51m 32s for 243rd overall and 67th lady.
