On Sunday 5th March eight men and four women from Abergele Harriers travelled to Manley Mere, near Helsby, to take part in the fifth fixture in this seaon’s Border’s League. Despite the very poor weather conditions, Ben Lightowler completed the 5.15 mile course in a time of 29:59 for 30th place.  He was followed by Darren Blazier who was 43rd in a time of 30:51, James Salt in 32:12 (70th) and  Darren Battersby who finished in exactly 35 minutes for 110th place. John Jones was 128th in a time of  35:59.  Mark Mayers finished in 36:32 (137th), Graham Shone in 40:14 (179th) and Rob Armstrong in 44:16 for 202nd position. This gave the Men’s team fourth place on the day and they remain in third position overall in Division 2.

 Amy Owen-Jones was the first of the Women’s team to finish in 37:22 (25th place) closely followed by Rachel Shipley in 38:02 (29th), Paula Maguire in 40:27 (52nd) and Chris Birch in 40:28 (53rd). These results mean that the Women’s team were third on the day and move up to fourth place in Division 2.
