Twelve Abergele Harriers were among the 300 runners taking part in the penultimate round of the Borders Road Running League held over a 5.7mile course at Deeside on Wednesday evening.

Richard Wilyman led the team home in 32m 41s for 26^th overall. Darren Blazier finished in 33m 55s (51^st ) followed by Rob Armstrong, who had competed in a tough fell race the previous evening, running 35m 54s (85^th). Andy Simpson crossed the line in 37m 44s (122^nd) just ahead of Mark Mayers running 37m 59s (127^th) and Andrew Mercer finishing in 38m 17s (135^th). Grahame Shone ran 39 minutes exactly. Anthony Howe ran 40m 18s (175^th) with John Essary completing the men’s with a run of 49m 56s (273^rd).

Chris Birch led the ladies home in 41m 11s for 195^th overall and 1^st FV65.

Rachel Shipley ran 44m 06s (235^th) with Lucy Curtis hot on her heels finishing in 44m 42s (243^rd).
