Abergele Harriers men's team were promoted back to the Borders League first division as second division champions after Wednesdays final race. Despite the race itself not counting, the men had already secured the title after a series of superb runs all season. Unfortunately because the last race was voided, the Ladies team were denied the Imrovers trophy that they so richly deserved but there was some consolation with both Carol Willgoose and Chris Birch winning their age categories overall.

The final race itself was declared void after a marshalling error meant a number of the runners took the wrong route, some running the correct distance of 4 miles, while most ran 5.6 and some ran even further.

The final round of the 2013/14 Borders League was held in Shotton on Wednesday evening. Eleven Abergele Harriers ran a 5.5 mile course but unfortunately due to a marshalling error the race was declared void.

Ben Lightowler led the team home in 31m 50s for 17th overall. Darren Blazier ran 32m 11s (24th) followed by Rich Wilyman finishing in 32m 45s (34th). James Salt finished in 33m 50s (58th) with Mark Mayers running 34m 29s (75th). Andy Simpson ran 36m 53s (120th) followed by Jeni Richards finishing in 37m 16s (127th). Grahame Shone finished in 40m 16s (188th) with Chris Birch running 41m 46s (218th). Dave Edwards and Rachel Shipley completed the team crossing the line in 43m (236th) and 43m 25s (239th) respectively.

The men were clear winners of the 2nd division earning promotion to the 1st division next season. Carol Willgoose (FV55) and Chris Birch (FV60) both won their respective age categories for the season overall.
